Ping / Mention Users

I mostly wanna be able to mention alt accounts in my bio but it'd also be useful for directly tagging a user's on site profile for things such as commission uploads, art trades, gifts, etc. in the related post. functioning as a link to their page as well as sending a notification when in posts.I'm told it works in replies but I'm specifically asking for it as a global function.
